Corporate Gifting in India: A Practical Guide for Small Teams and Tight Budgets

Team Felofey · 30 Sept 2026

Corporate gifting in India guide

What to give clients and employees, what it should cost per head, how far ahead to order, and why most corporate gifts get left behind at the office.

There is a particular sight at the end of a company Diwali party: a table with eleven unclaimed gift boxes on it. Someone spent a real budget on those, and a third of the room decided they were not worth carrying home.

Corporate gifting fails in a specific way. The gift is chosen to look appropriate to the person approving the invoice, rather than to be wanted by the person receiving it. Those are different goals, and the second one is the one that matters.

What to spend per head

Useful ranges for Indian teams, before GST and delivery:

  • ₹150–₹250 — large teams, event giveaways, conference swag. One good small object beats a bag of branded stationery.
  • ₹250–₹500 — the standard band for employee festival gifts in small and mid-sized companies. Enough to buy something genuinely nice.
  • ₹500–₹1,500 — clients, partners, senior team, onboarding kits for new joiners.
  • Above ₹1,500 — reserve for a small number of key relationships. Spreading this across everyone is usually worse value than spending ₹400 on something people keep.

One rule worth holding to: it is better to give forty people something they use than to give forty people something that photographs well. The second option is more expensive and less effective.

Lead times, honestly

Handmade work does not scale the way factory stock does. Each piece is made individually, so quantity translates directly into days.

  • Up to 25 pieces — about two weeks.
  • 25 to 100 — three to four weeks.
  • Over 100 — five to six weeks, and worth a conversation before you commit to a date.

Add two weeks if your order lands in the Diwali window, when both the workshop and the courier network are at their busiest. Anyone promising 200 handmade pieces in five days is sending you factory stock with a handmade label.

What works for each occasion

Diwali and festive. The biggest gifting moment of the Indian corporate year, and the most crowded. Sculptural candles work because they are festive without being generic — the mithai candle collection of jalebi, imarti and modak reads as Diwali immediately and does not compete with the six boxes of actual sweets everyone already received.

New joiners. An onboarding gift is the cheapest culture signal a company can buy. Something small on a new desk on day one does more than a welcome email. Coasters or a desk flower pot work because they stay on the desk and are visible to the person every day.

Clients and partners. Handmade has an advantage here that branded goods do not: it carries an implied story about how it was made. A crochet bouquet at ₹649 lasts years on a reception desk, which is more presence than a hamper that is eaten in a week.

Events and conferences. Keep it under ₹250 and make it small enough to go in a laptop bag. Keychains at ₹169 are the workhorse — they clip onto a bag at the venue rather than being carried loose and abandoned.

Branding: less than you think

The instinct is to put the logo on the gift. Resist most of it. A logo makes the object about the company, and the recipient can tell. A discreet card with the logo, packed beside an unbranded gift, achieves the same recall without turning the thing into signage.

The exception is genuine event swag, where the logo is the point and everyone knows it. Everywhere else, put the branding on the packaging and let the gift be a gift.

GST, invoices and the practical bits

Corporate orders usually need a proper tax invoice against your company GSTIN, delivery to one address or many, and sometimes staggered dispatch. All of that is fine — tell us at the point of enquiry rather than after ordering, because it changes how we pack and bill.

Bulk pricing depends on quantity and lead time rather than being a fixed slab. Send the number of pieces and the date you need them on the corporate gifting page and we will quote against that.

A short checklist before you order

  1. Fix the headcount. Order for 100% of employees, but 70–80% of an invite list for an event.
  2. Pick the date you need it in hand, then work backwards using the lead times above.
  3. Decide one gift or a small choice. Two or three options beats one identical item for everybody.
  4. Confirm delivery addresses early. One office is simple; forty home addresses for a remote team is a different job and needs more notice.
  5. Ask for a sample if the order is large. Seeing one in hand is worth more than any photograph.

Common questions

What is the minimum order for bulk pricing?

Roughly 25 pieces. Below that, ordering from the shop directly is usually simpler and no more expensive.

Can you match our brand colours?

Often, yes. Yarn colours are not infinite, but for a bulk order we can normally get close. Ask before ordering rather than after.

Can you ship to individual employee addresses?

Yes, including for remote teams. Send the list as a spreadsheet and allow extra time.

Do you provide a GST invoice?

Yes. Share your company name, address and GSTIN with the enquiry.

If you are buying for one person rather than a team, our guide to handmade gifts under ₹500 is the better starting point. For anything from 25 pieces upward, send the details through the corporate gifting page with your date and we will come back with a quote.
